Third-generation Dodge Chargers never managed to reach the wow factor of the models they replaced, but we're here now to give you a 1972 Charger that will definitely have people thinking about it long after it passes them.
This is one of those restomod projects that makes one proud to be American, with the muscle car having been gifted with a second-generation Viper heart - you should check out the image gallery below to see how you can make an 8.3-liter V10 look small.
In order to fit the Mopar machine, the engine had its oil pan modified, with the otherwise complex wiring job being handled without any issues, since the guy behind the build is an electrician.
Speaking of this all-Dodge project, the man who's handling the shenanigan (together with his dad) took his story to Reddit.
"No, I'm NOT rich, I'm an electrician, and my father and I started this project together, We've split everything, we're in this car 50/50, every dime, hour, idea. No one really cares for the 71-74, 3rd gen Chargers, and I wanted one that would turn heads, and scare the hell out of anyone in the passenger seat. I did not seek out a '72 Charger, it just.. Popped up one day, and I decided that was the car," the man explains.
In case you were wondering about the financial side of the deal, the car has swallowed over $40,000. However, there are two aspects anybody wishing to come up with a similar project has to take into account.
First of all, there's the ton of work invested by the father-son team (the hostilities kicked off in 2014), and then we have the work-in-progress status of the vehicle. To be more precise, this muscle madness still needs an interior.
Come to think of it, coming up with a better way of spending quality family time is not that easy.
