Now that we’ve introduced you to Chevrolet’s latest 2014 Silverado commercial, here’s a Chevy truck that will change the popular opinion that cool street machines need to be built out of musclecars or big four-door sedans.
Spotted at the 2013 Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, this 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer truck received a street machine treatment... with a twist. It has everything an American street machine / restomod car should have, but it has been turned into a convertible. Yep, that a convertible SUV right there. We think it’s pretty cool, and if you don’t agree... well, you’re entitled to your opinion...
Besides losing its cabin, the Blazer also got a 454 cubic inch V8, a mean black exterior color, a brown/orange two-tone leather interior (done by B&K Customs), airbrushed wood grain surrounds for the instrument panel and dashboard, lowered suspension and a proper set of rollers. There is a down side however, the vehicle doesn’t have a top, which means it will be spending its rainy days in the garage.
