As if the 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 wasn’t cool enough, here’s one model that has recently been discovered sitting all alone in a garage in upstate New York.
Such discoveries don’t always come with good news, especially since cars abandoned for years away from the light of day aren’t stored in proper conditions. But here’s an exception, as this ’71 Mustang looks pretty good, so hats off to whoever knew how to preserve an icon correctly.

While not many specifics have been provided as to where and for how long it’s been stored, the Mustang is said to come with the original drivetrain, so we’re still getting the 351 engine paired with a 4-speed transmission. They both work correctly, and eBay seller wiawsnb says you can also take it for a spin because, yes, the Mustang runs, drives, and stops perfectly.

In other words, it needs just a few fixes here and there to become a head-turner, and the only improvement it received after being pulled from the garage was a thorough cleaning of the engine and the engine bay. Nothing has been changed to preserve the originality, the owner says, and this is without a doubt the correct approach, especially because a collector would pay big bucks for this kind of thing.

The only part that deserves a bit more attention is the paint, as it already shows its age, according to the eBay listing. The Mustang had already been repainted in 1985, so we’re guessing it wasn’t necessarily the most professional job.

Other than that, you’re getting the full package on this Mustang, and the interior is said to be spotless, with absolutely no damage to the seats. The mileage is 75,567 miles (121,613 km), and it’s believed to be correct.

As you probably know already, a Ford Mustang Boss 351 barn find isn’t something you come across every day, and certainly not in this condition. So without a doubt, such a car can’t be cheap, and there’s a good chance this won’t be either. The top bid right now is $22,500, but the reserve is yet to be met.
