1969 "Ferrari" Pickup Truck for Sale on eBay

Sometimes appearances can be deceiving and things aren't always what they seem to be. Take for instance the pickup truck you see in the picture. You could have sworn it was a Ferrari pickup truck judging by the Prancing Horse but actually, it is not.

The pickup truck you see in the photo is, in fact, a 1969 Subaru Sambar Kei micro truck that has been garnished with Italian leather and Ferrari badges so that it would look like a Prancing Horse model. After a few modifications (that still can not hide its real nature though), the vehicle is being sold on eBay, carscoop reported.

As for the changes that have been made to the Subaru micro truck, these include "a complete restoration form the ground up." The body was "disassembled and was chemically stripped" and the headlights have been customized. The interior was equipped with Italian leather and Ferrari gauges were added to the vehicle. There is also a GPS from Garmin and an Alpine system "that will blow you out of cab". In addition, the marker lamps have been also customized, giving the vehicle a personal touch.

Well, at first sight, the vehicle doesn't look bad at all, in fact it seems kind of cute only that there is something we don't understand: why trying to make things seem what they are not? Certainly the Prancing Horse temptation is big but the car was just perfect being a Subaru...

So far 24 bids have been made, with a current bid of  $12,600 but there are still about 12 hours left on the ticker so the situation could still change. We're really curious how much this "Ferrari" pickup truck will fetch in the end, but judging by the bids made so far, we might say there is some interest in this micro truck.
