Earlier this month we were reporting about a rare and gorgeous 1968 Shelby GT500KR Convertible that was getting ready to cross the block at Barrett-Jackson’s car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
One of only 43 units finished in Bright Yellow and still sporting its original 428 cubic inch V8 engine and four-speed manual transmission, the vehicle that was recently restored by a Shelby specialist was expected to fetch well over $200,000. With the auction now over, we can happily report that this gem of a musclecar found a new owner for $308,000, doing better than the first production 2015 Mustang.
Far from being a bargain, the yellow convertible pony has only 20,000 original miles on the odometer and comes with an authentic Shelby VIN tag. We bet the new owner is more than happy with his new acquisition and we hope to see it winning a few beauty contests in the future.
