The stunning 1966 Shelby GT350H you’re looking at will be auctioned off by RM Auctions in Monterey this month. One of the 1,001 examples ever produced, this GT350H is more than just a “regular” Hertz Mustang.
Converted to a race car after completing its rental duties, this GT350H has seen a lot of track action back in its heyday. The pony was stripped of its 306 HP 4.7-liter V8 engine and fitted with an enhanced version of the same mill that was capable to deliver 572 HP.
Besides the BLP 750 CFM Winston Cup race carburetor and Edelbrock custom-ported intake manifold, the no. 314 Shelby also sports a race-prepped Jericho transmission, a billet Super Hurts shifter, Cobra Automotive sports suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Inside, its future owner will find a Kirkey aluminum racing seat, five-point harness seat belt, as well as R-model-style dashboard and gauges.
Tempting enough? Then you’ll have to be prepared with at least $150,000, because RM Auctions estimates this Shelby GT350H at more than that. Actually, it could fetch up to $200,000.
