After you've owned a Caddy for 50 years, there are very few things that might determine you to sell it. However, this 1962 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible is one car aficionados and collectors can't miss.
We found this beauty on BaT, where an auction is now live, and the current bid for this American classic reached the $3,350 mark. But let's get you acquainted with the car before getting into finances.

According to BaT, the Caddy you'll see in the photo gallery is described as a "highly original" survivor with only 100,000 miles (160,934 km) on the odometer. Besides the generous batch of photos provided by the owner, the same source states the car has always been kept in the garage and covered.

The pictures do speak for themselves, as you'll be able to notice how the Newport Blue exterior paint and the cabin kept their condition over the years. Under the hood lies a "torquey" 390 cubic inch (6.4-liter) V8 good for 325 horsepower when new.

Most importantly, in the past three decades, this beauty was only used for Sunday joy rides and before that, it's job was to take the family on long vacation trips.

As you might know, Cadillacs from the '60s were heavily influenced by GM styling boss Bill Mitchell, and as you can see, the trademark fins are still there, although are a lot shorter than what Cadillac had to over with previous models.

Cadillac managed to build just under 17,000 convertibles like this one back in 1962, more than in 1961 and 1963. So, is what you've been reading so far enough to light up your interest?
