Yesterday, we talked about 21-year-old British artist Khyzyl Saleem and his ability to paint a dystopian automotive future that actually appears as... utopian. Nonetheless, while we have discussed his apocalyptic supercar renderings, it is now time to give you some even sweeter eye candy, namely his muscle car work.
The Brit portrays three pieces of metal that have written chapters and chapters of US history in a manner that easily makes them shine stronger than their modern counterparts.* We are talking about a Ford Mustang Mach 1, a Chevrolet Corvette C3, as well as a pair of Dodge Chargers.
While the artist clearly has a thing for the Mopar stuff (he’s rendered two Chargers), the most striking creature here is the Mach 1.The way in which the supercharger air intake and the protected headlights replace the traditional light bar theme is simply overwhelming.
As for the Chargers, these are kept mostly clean, continuing the theme of the original front fascia. Their windshield sticker messages are clear though. When it came to the ‘Vette, Saleem looks to have followed a motorsport-inspired theme - providing that racing Mad Max vehicles with some added downforce is your idea of motorsport.
*This is not to say we don’t mention the 2015 Ford Mustang, the 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat or the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 on Thanksgiving, but the digital world take on the originals simply looks more appealing to us.
As we explained yesterday, these renderings came to virtual life in Photoshop, a software the 21-year-old has been spending time with for the last four years. Saleem is aiming for a career in automotive design and until we get to see what he can do for the industry, we’re inviting you to also see a different path of his work, namely a remastered NASA space shuttle. You’ll find this accompanying the muscle cars in the gallery below.
