Remember the good old two-door station wagon? More commonly known as the sedan delivery, this body style was all the rave back in the 1930s up to the late 1970s. Although they're not that sought after these days, this 1957 example of the timeless Chevrolet Sedan Delivery made us droll due to its impeccable condition, muscle, and street rod attitude.
Offered for a bottom line as-is price of $135,000, this Chevy Sedan Delivery isn't the cheapest way of entering the street rod and classic car scenes. Believe it or not, it's a cool $5,000 more expensive than the US-spec Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S. But while the uber coupe from Germany promises "handcrafted performance and head-turning style to make your heart race," this Chevrolet old-timer is much more than meets the eye. Much more.

First there's the 502 cubic-inch (8.2-liter) GM Performance Parts big-block V8, churning out a whopping 550 horsepower. Behind the eight-cylinder blunderbuss there's a GM 700R4 4-speed automatic that spins between a ProTorque converter and an aluminum driveshaft. The latter twists a Dutchman 9-inch axle and an Auburn posi-traction differential with 3.55 gears. And this is just half of the goodies list...

Without a shadow of a doubt, what we have here is an ambassador of swagger considering the work that went into detailing this vehicle. The tastefully modded body shell wears custom DuPont Chroma Premier paint that complements the 18/19-inch Budnik Cannon wheels like a charm. So the car can talk the talk, but does it walk the walk? Of course it does. The power lying under that hood is kept in check by a killer chassis, equipped with a Ridetech suspension system, power steering, and power disc brakes on all four corners.

This award-winning Sedan Delivery may be an expensive and outlandish beast by classic car collectors, but the interior isn't a nostalgia trip back to the '50s. Pop the shaved doors and you'll find bucket seats from a 1967 Pontiac GTO wearing Doe hides, a Vintage Air climate control, a Custom Autosound head unit, and gauges made by Classic Instruments.

You'll also find the console between the billet foot pedals and Dynamat sound insulation wearing Chip Foose's autograph. How about that for the perfect blend of lavish '50s style and modern commodities?
