Back in September 2020, we uncovered a very special kind of Ford F-100. A 1954 model year by birth, it was taken by a Utah-based shop called Speedtech Performance to new levels of cool, thanks in part to the BMW Rock Fish Blue paintwork. Now, it’s time for another one, equally as exciting, and possibly even blue-er.
The paint on this one is called Surf Blue Metallic, and for all intents and purposes, it is not one we come across every day, especially on a pickup truck build. Yet, it fits the sculpted and alluring lines of the half-ton like a glove, clearly making it stand out in a crowd of its siblings.

The incredible blue spreads from the nose of the car to the tailgate, interrupted only by the chrome of the bumpers, mirrors, and door handles. Up front, halo DLRs give it a look of modernity, while the 20-inch American Racing wheels help highlight every simple line and curve of the body.

Beneath the blue metal skin, a full tan leather interior gets revealed, with the material used on everything from the bench to the steering wheel and door panels. The tilt steering column ends in a 3-point wheel, behind which sits a set of aftermarket gauges.

The engine is what you would usually expect from such a build, a 302ci (5.0-liter) running an Edelbrock intake and a Holley fuel injection system. A 4-speed automatic is in charge of harnessing the unrevealed horsepower troop, and a dual exhaust system is on deck for breathing needs. The engine has been in use for no more than 1,150 miles (1,850 km).

Whereas in the case of the Speedtech F-100, we have no indication of a possible value of the build, the Surf Blue one we have here is for sale: the asking price for it on Vanguard Motors is $77,900, putting it out of reach of most old half-ton lovers.
