1930 Ford Pickup Street Rod With 4+2 Wheels Is More Expensive Than Shelby GT500

These days, there's a strong debate over the form versus function topic that comes up when building a custom vehicle. The showgoers will opt for the form approach, while others will choose function instead. But there are those rare occasions when form follows function, and everything just clicks together. And so I find myself staring at this 1930 Ford Pickup Hotrod, looking for something to complain about.

But it's really difficult to complain about something that has been built to such an extent. Moving past the fascinating classic shape that Ford presented to the public 80 years ago, you just have to love all the details on this truck. The fact that you can see the engine produces a very strong visual impact, especially considering its nature. This is a 434-cubic inch (7.1-liter) V8, built by Buck Racing Engines.

You can never have too much power, so a nitrous system was also set into place, which should make it even faster at the dragstrip. We don't have any official horsepower figures or any kind of time slip, but it wouldn't be surprising if this could run the quarter-mile (402 m) in less than 10 seconds. Given the nature of the engine, extensive work has been done in all departments, and the first things you'll notice are the massive Willwood brakes.

To see those brakes, you'll have to take your eyes off of the Boyd Coddington alloys, which come in 17" on the front and 20" on the rear, making for quite an intimidating stance. This truck would feel just at home at any car show, as the seller describes one of its features: "The biggest talking point will be how you won't have to put a mirror under this one to show off the clean and custom undercarriage with a quick-change racing rear end...all you have to do is look in the clear-bottom truck bed!"

The cabin looks extremely cozy and clean, and it does come with several comfort features like an AM/FM/CD Stereo, ice-cold air conditioning, and a fancy tan and chrome steering wheel on a polished tilt column. No expenses were spared, and the truck even comes with a receipt of $23,000, documenting the custom trailer and accessories. At the end of the day, you'll have to pay $118,995 for this truck, which is currently located in Atlanta.
