1700 HP Chevy Silverado Runs 8-second Quarter Mile, Sets World Record

The white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado you’re about to see below is the world’s fastest 1999+ model year Chevy pickup truck on the drag strip.
Fitted with a 427 cubic inch engine and a Precision 114mm turbocharger, this single cab Silverado has about 1,700 horsepower at its disposal, which translates into 8-second quarter mile runs.

The world record was established at the 2013 October Truck Madness at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, when the truck completed the quarter mile in 8.07 seconds at 178 miles per hour.
