Over the years, we've shown you tons of monstrously powerful drag strip toys that enjoyed concealing their muscle. Well, this Oldsmobile certainly doesn't belong to that category.
Instead, we're talking about a Cutlass that would let even a five-year-old know he's dealing with a monster of a machine. Having established the nature of this rather extreme build, it's time to zoom in on the details.

The engine compartment, as well as the space above it, is occupied by a deadly combination. We're talking about a 516ci Chevy V8, with the big block turning to alcohol, as well as to a behemoth of a blower, to deliver its kick.

And since you can't talk about such a drag strip hero without mentioning its output, we'll tell you this slab of America treats its driver with no less than 1,650 ponies. Like many drag racing contraptions out there, this Cutlass sees its V8 working with a Powerglide tranny.

The tech numbers are cool, but how are these translated into the real world?

As for the kind of performance such an Oldsmobile can deliver, it's owner explains it all in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, mentioning both the car's best half-mile time, as well as its mightiest quarter-mile number.

Speaking of the clip, the action here sees the velocity behemoth playing in the small tire league, so all that power is thrown onto a pair of 275-section tires. And no, the prepped surface isn't nearly enough to compensate for the presence of fat rubber, so we're dealing with a spectacular piece of wrestling here.

And while this is the kind of badass ride that would require a wheelie bar for optimal performance, the video has something else to display, namely monstrous burnouts, accompanies by an unmistakably supercharged soundtrack that will tickle your aficionado bone.
