BMW M is celebrating their 15th season in MotoGP as a provider of safety cars.
BMW M has started providing safety cars for MotoGP back in 1999 and since then, their fleet was renewed and upgraded with each passing season.

For the 2013 MotoGP championship, BMW will not only offer safety and medical cars but has come up with two HP4 safety bikes, as well.

The first round of the current season will take place this very weekend at the Losail circuit in Doha, Qatar, and BMW has BMW M6 Gran Coupe, BMW M6 Coupe and BMW M5 as safety cars, BMW M550d xDrive Touring as medical cars and the said HP4 duo.

Even more, 2013 marks the tenth anniversary of the BMW M Award, a prize which is offered to the rider with the best overall qualifying record. A token of respect for the best efforts in the series, the BMW M Award is presented at the end of the MotoGP season and among the recent winners we should name Valentino Rossi (ITA), Casey Stoner (AUS), Jorge Lorenzo (ESP) and Nicky Hayden (USA).

The winner receives an exclusive BMW M and this season's prize will be announced in May at the Jerez round.
