The 30th anniversary M5 model that is rumored to be launched soon is already causing a ruckus. Apparently, it’s a real thing and it was basically confirmed by BMW Australia’s spokesperson.
Hearing about the imminent launch of the 600 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque monster, the guys from Car Advice reached out to their local BMW branch and asked for a couple of hints onto whether the Australians could see this car heading their way.

“Because Australia is such a performance oriented market, we have made sure we have secured some of these vehicles. While the number is quite small … that is certainly more than our fair share on a market percentage basis. We are very excited about being able to offer this awesome vehicle on the Australian market,” said Lenore Fletcher, BMW Australia Corporate Communications General Manager.

Looking over the sales figures recorded in Australia and the limited 300-pieces we’ll be seeing of this car, we have to agree that the Aussies did get a rather big number of cars. It’s not exactly the lion’s share but it’s more than decent.

Most likely, the 300 30th anniversary M5 will be sold out within minutes of its official launch, if BMW didn’t already sell most of them through behind closed doors.
