Remember the shock brought by Ford introducing independent rear suspension on the S550 Mustang? Sure, street drivers were extremely happy that the 2015 'Stang came with such a setup, since the muscle car no longer tried to bite its driver through the bends. However, drag racers weren't all that happy, since the good old live rear axle setup was more suitable for getting the thing off the line.
Of course, we are now in 2018, with aftermarket developers having plenty of time to play with the IRS Ford Mustang. And the results are impressive, with Blue Oval machines now delivering splendid drag strip stunts.

And we've brought along an example, one that involves a Ford Mustang that has been gifted with a twin-turbo setup. Thanks to a pair of Precision 6466 turbos, the Coyote V8 under the hood now delivers a mighty 1,400 horsepower. The unit works with a 6r80 transmission, which does a brilliant job.

Now, before moving any further, we have to point out that the thing we have here is a street car.

As is the norm with tuner cars, you can't fully trust performance numbers until these have been proven in the real world. Well, this Ford Mustang has shown that it can certainly make full use of its newfound muscle.

To be more precise, the slab of America can deliver high-7-second quarter-mile runs, with this being showcased in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

However, the most impressive party trick of the boosted pony comes from its explosive takeoff. To be more precise, this 'Stang has been able to deliver a 1.18s 60-foot time.

As for the aural side of the adventure, the TT setup obviously isn't an advantage. However, given the savage setup of the engine, the scream of this velocity tool is impossible to ignore.
