1,400 HP Fox Body Mustang Dragnfly Backs Up Its Nickname with Monster Wheelies

When you happen to drive a Fox Body Mustang, many people might point their fingers at you for the less-than-desirable nature of your 'Stang. However, the drag racing world likes to give such nay-sayers a taste of their own medicine by delivering incredibly capable Fox Body Fords that tear up the drag strip.

The piece of footage below brings us the most recent example of that. We're dealing with a Mustang that uses the Dragnfly nickname and, as we mentioned in the title, the machine backs it all with monster wheelies, keeping the 1,320 feet audience in the attention-paying zone.

However, if you happen to be the type of aficionado who's easily offended by builds that mix bits and pieces from Detroit's Big Three, this definitely isn't the car for you. That's because the Mustang in question is animated by an LS motor.

Under the hood of this Blue Oval machine, we'll find a 5.3-liter forged engine that has gone down the turbocharging route. The vee eight packs twin 76mm turbos, which allow it to deliver at least 1,400 ponies.

Nevertheless, the engine compartment of this Fox Body has been occupied by a different powerplant in the past, and we're not talking about the dull factory motor of the Ford. Instead, we're referring to the setup that made this car famous on the drag racing scene, namely a 6.0-liter unit working with a single turbo.

Returning to the current state of the octane behemoth, we're inviting you to check out the Dragnfly at work behind the "play" button below.

When you choose such a violent color for your racecar, you have to be aware of the fact that the hue can easily turn against you. For instance, in the event of a crash, you can be sure nobody missed "the guy who trashed his 'Stang." But this is another story for another time.
