We’re not sure about the kind of dyno room experiences you’ve lived so far, but the one shown in the video above feels like the entire process is taking place in hell. It’s all the fault of an Audi R8 V10 (the previous generation) that has boarded the twin-turbo train.
The 5.2-liter engine has been fitted with a twin-turbo system relying on Garrett GTX hardware. The setup was installed by AMS Performance, the tuner which is currently battling for the Nissan GT-R quarter mile record with its Alpha Omega project that delivers north of 2,000 hp.

This 2015 R8 V10 has a more... modest output, delivering 1,300 hp. At the wheels. When you’re playing at this level of grunt, an anti-lag system is mandatory and this slab of Ingolstadt spits fire like a German dragon.

Interestingly enough, the R-Tronic automated manual has been ditched in favor of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The implementation is said to be closer to that in the Lamborghini Huracan than to what Audi offers on the 2016 R8.

This R8 will take part in top-tier rolling start drag racing events, so it’s an entirely new adventure for AMS, who had previously released an 1,000 HP Alpha 10 Audi R8 performance package.

We have a bit of a spoiler alert from the people who dynoed the car - “As of now, they have just started seeing the HP side of things.” So not only will we see this R8 on the drag strip soon, but we'll also get to enjoy even more oomph from its side.
