No-Prep drag races are some of our favorite. Sure, they might not always lead to the fastest times out there, but they do pack the element of surprise. We’re here to talk about such a case, namely a Ford Mustang SVT Cobra that bets on the twin-turbo card.
This ‘Stang has been tuned all the way to a whopping 1,200 HP, but, believe it or not, this isn’t the hottest feature of the car. That title belongs to its street-legal attitude.
The Cobra showed up at the Redemption No-Prep event that was held over the weekend in Kennedale, TX and took everybody by surprise - we need to list the car’s achievements in order to explain how cool it performed.
The 1,200 HP Cobra raced in two classes, namely the Small Tire Class and True Street Class. As you’ll be able to see in the video below, this snake eats foxes for breakfast. The car doesn’t remain undefeated, but it wins most of the races it takes part in.
In fact, it was all a double party for the driver. Aside from running double the classes, he also drove double the street cruise miles - vehicles racing in this class are required to do a number of road miles and this guy accidentally went from 30 to 60.
Obviously, this only goes to show that we are talking about streetable muscle here. Sure, it might not seem so after watching the video and noticing the sheer violence of the machine...
