The Toyota Supra wasn't too shabby in factory trim, but the example in the clip below pulls a Game of Thrones move on us, being overly brutal in the process of attending half-mile racing.
Then again, we can expect that when talking about a machine that packs north of 1,200 hp. The Supra managed to impress during the WannaGoFast 1/2-mile event that was held on September 12/13 in Clayton, GA, with the machine hitting 197 mph (that's 317 km/h for you reading this across the pond).

Sure, as any drag racing aficionados can point out, the velocity mentioned above, as well as the horsepower, may not sound all that impressive in a time when customer Nissan GT-Rs packs as much as 2,000 hp.

Nevertheless, we have to keep in mind that we are talking about a daily driver here. In fact, this Supra was on street tires when it pulled the said run.

Driving this on a daily basis sounds like fun, but what's under the hood?

The 3.4-liter engine block of this Supra is a Real Street RS1600 unit, with the motor using a single Precision 7675HP-B Turbocharger. In the configuration used for the races we're talking about, the turbine delivers 35 lbs of boost.

Oh and there's also a secret weapon being used here, namely a 70 shot of nitrous.

The Toyota pulled the run on street tires, using Toyota R888 rubber coming in a 305/35 R18 size for the rear axle.

As for the overly brutal part, just think about how this Supra hits extreme speeds without a rear wing. Oh, and the rollcage is also missing, so losing control is not exactly an option.

With all the shifting and the turbo soundtrack around, driving this Supra is one badass occupation. Luckily, the video below also offers us an on-board view of the sprinting action.
