Introduced in 1969, the Pontiac Trans Am shared Chevrolet Camaro’s platform for more than 30 years. Retired eleven years ago, the Trans Am is still driven by enthusiasts and even put to some real drag strip action once in a while.
One such example was entered the 2013 Spring Texas Invitational, and its huge 1,200 HP output and 155 mph quarter mile speed helped the owner eliminate a similarly-powered Toyota Supra, two Chevrolet Corvettes and even a 1,500 HP Lamborghini Gallardo.
Although it was eventually defeated by a 1,550 HP Lambo Superleggera, the beefed up Trans Am did put on an impressive show and we won’t be surprised if it becomes an event winner in the near future. But enough with the talk, scroll below and hit the play button to watch this Pontiac work its power to the rear wheels.
