In the realm of stock Dodge Demons, drivers are currently waiting for the cooler fall weather to see the car hitting its 9.65s quarter-mile potential (the best run so far sits at 9.8s, albeit on drag radials). Nevertheless, there are some who just can't seem to wait and Hennessey Performance, with its Demon upgrades, is among them.
The Texan specialist had previously announced a program that would take the SRT halo car all the way to 1,500 hp. And the time has come for the 1,200 hp version of the animal to reach the world.

Hennessey has recently completed the build, strapping the big coupe to the dyno. The result was might impressive, with the machine delivering 1013 rear wheel HP and 954 rear wheel lb-ft of torque (a Dynojet unit was used).

Keep in mind that the Lone Star State developer currently holds the Demon 1/4-mile world record, with its 1,000+ hp unit having managed to pull a 9.13s run earlier this year.

Speaking of the Challenger, we'll remind you that the Demon is now retired. Nevertheless, Dodge has come up with a new range-topper for the 2019 model year. We're referring to the Challenger Hellcat Redeye, which we've recently seen delivering a monster burnout.

Well, Hennessey also has plans for the Redeye, as we discussed yesterday. For now, the company has announced an upgrade that will take the uber-Hellcat past the 1,000 horsepower border.

The chosen demon vehicle will come in Widebody form (the Redeye can also be had in "standard" form) and we can't wait to see the effect the four-digit muscle has on the rear tires.

Meanwhile, you can check out the 1,200 hp tearing up the dyno in the piece of footage below. The aural side of the heavily massaged Mopar machine is on the delicious side, which means you should take care of that volume button.
