The North Carolina Highway Patrol had a busy night a few days earlier trying to stop a speeding truck on Charlotte's Interstate 77.
The law enforcement officers eventually managed to stop the car without incidents but they had the surprise of their life when they discovered that the reckless driver was a 12-year-old girl.
According to the South Carolina Police, the girl apparently got into an argument with her father after which she left her house and stole a truck to drive from Gaffney to a friend in Fort Mill.
The girl got lost at some point and it was intercepted by the Police, who said that while it was a generally low-speed pursuit, the driver sped up to 75 miles per hour at times.
The 12-year-old girl spent the night in custody and was later taken to the hospital for a hand injury as a result of the fight she had with her father. No charges have been announced yet.
