Does evil has boundaries when it comes to savage street bikes? No, and these spy photos are backing such a statement: it looks like we're in for nifty new machinery from Borgo Panigale, as photographers have caught what it appears to be an 1198 Testastretta 11° liquid-cooled engine loaded onto a bike with obvious Monster DNA.
This is indeed great news from Ducati, as it looks like they're finally moving on from the air-cooled power plants to the more environmentally-friendly liquid-cooled ones, and this is good for everybody.
If anything, the spied Monster looks like sharing the power section with the Diavel, and the exhaust system is not that much different, either. Now, this brings us in the realm of the 150+ HP, and given the traditional lightweight and slender build of the Monsters, such power spells quite a fun bike, especially for the HP junkies who've been looking for a more street-oriented high-power machine.
Interesting to see how Ducati is expanding the Monster family with a top-horsepower machine. The Monsters have always been the top-selling bikes as they were also the brand's entry-level motorcycles, but it looks like we're about to meet a top-notch, really mean Monster at EICMA this fall. Via Asphalt and Rubber.
