"An 1,100 horsepower Mercedes-AMG GT R, is that correct?" Of course it is, there's no mistake here. Sure, you don't get to hear about Affalterbach's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 being taken into four-digit output territory all that often, but this is precisely what happened to the engine of the GT R that brought us here.
The owner of this Merc considered the 585 ponies that make for the factory output... an underpowered proposition, which is why the unit was taken down the aftermarket route.

Russia is the country where this speed devil comes from, so, if you're looking for the complete menu delivered by the piece of footage below, which talks about the machine, make sure to use YouTube's closed caption and automatic translation features.

Now, the big question is whether this 1,100-pony Mercedes-AMG GT R can take down the McLaren 720S. You know, the Woking machine that has beaten plenty of tuner cars packing 1,xxx hp figures.

Sure, there's a mention of this in the clip, but we have to see the battle happening and we probably will, albeit later in the year.

Meanwhile, the machine was thrown at another slice of Germany, namely a BMW M5 Competition. With 625 horsepower on tap and all-paw hardware to put all that muscle to the road, the F90 is an absolute monster, but not if you look at it from inside the said Mercedes-AMG.

So, how big is the gap between the two beasts? Well, there's no sense in throwing spoilers your way, so you can get your answer by skipping to the 23:35 point of the clip below.

P.S.: About those McLaren 720s vs. The World battles we mentioned, here are some example for you: this one shows the Macca duking it out with an 1,150 hp Viper, while the one we have here involves an 1,000 hp Hellcat.
