After we informed you just the other day that rougly 21,000 Ram ProMaster full-size vans are recalled over an electrical corrosion issue, the Chrysler Group returns with a new call back operation covering 10,700 vehicles.
A routine internal quality audit discovered that when cruise control is engaged, acceleration initiated by the driver may be extended by rougly one second after the throttle pedal is released.

Those 10k Chrysler Group vehicles affected by this glitch are the 2014 model year Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and even the mighty Grand Cherokee SRT.

All cars have been assembled between January 16th and April 17th of 2014. Out of the 10,700 cars prone to this software glitch, an estimated 6,100 are located in the United States of America, 950 are in Canada, 425 in Mexico and 3,200 are located outside the NAFTA region.

Chrysler informs that most of these cars are still in dealer inventory or in transit to dealers, and all of them are to receive a cruise control software upgrade in order to fix the aforementioned fault. Fortunately, no accidents or injuries connected to this defect were reported as of yet.

However, customers affected are urged by the carmaker to contact the Chrysler Group's Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-853-1403 or their nearest Dodge/Jeep dealership in order to schedule a service department visit.
