1,000 HP Subaru Hops More than a Bunny, Aims for 8s 1/4-Mile Passes

Thankfully, we haven't come across too many cases of animals jumping onto the drag strip, but this is exactly what we want to show you today.
Nevertheless, this is the kind of animal you want to see on the prepped surface and that's because we're talking about a heavily modded Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

We'll get to the tech details of the JDM goodies in a moment, but first we have to warn you about the car's rather unusual starts. This Subaru hops just like a bunny - sometimes, it's difficult to find the perfect suspension setup for launching an all-wheel-drive machine with tons of power and it seems like the team behind this car has no issue with all the jumping.

Heck, we've seen bouncy take-offs before, but this one definitely takes the (carrot) cake.

Returning to the tech side of the STI, the four-cylinder setup under the hood includes a massive turbine, which is mounted in the nose of the machine - actually, you can clearly see the turbo through the missing center grille.

This allows the monster Scooby to deliver no less than 1,000 horses, but the output still doesn't fully explain the up-and-down launches.

However, the driver is serious about the 1,320 feet business, with the man aiming for 8s passes. And you wouldn't expect him to act in any other way, especially since he has to live up to the trolling on his number plates.

For now, the STI can deliver extremely low 9s runs, but it looks like the man will end up achieving his goal. After all, playing with the turbo and the suspension setups would be enough to help with the descent into the 8s pit.

Make sure you check out the piece of footage below to see the STI in action and keep in mind that this driver wants to have the fastest STI in America.
