There is no better way to reveal the difference between two rides than subjecting them to a good old drag race. This is exactly what happened recently at such an event that saw several twin-turbo supercars engage in a straight-line battle with the big, bad Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
This is the Blue Oval’s most powerful street-legal product ever, which dwarfs even the Ford GT when it comes to the output.

Boasting a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, which doesn’t whine as much as its direct challenger (pun intended) from Dodge, it is capable of rocketing it to 62 mph (100 kph) in just 3.1 seconds. The quarter mile is dealt with in around 10 seconds, with a perfect takeoff, in good weather conditions, and with a skilled driver holding the wheel.

Now, as impressive as the modern-day Shelby GT500 may be, even with over 1,000 hp available on tap, as per the video’s description, it simply cannot stand against a twin-turbo supercar from Lamborghini. Normally, the Huracan uses a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that is good for 631 hp in the STO, a true racer for the road that can hit the 62 mph (100 kph) mark in just 3.0 seconds from a standstill.

However, as we already mentioned, these Raging Bulls have tapped into their hyper sides, as they probably rock more power than the fastest super sports cars currently available on the market. Honestly, we have no idea how much they churn out, but we can look at a particular Huracan modified by Underground Racing for some hints. That one is still listed for grabs, at just under $440,000, and has 1,150 hp at the wheels when running on 93-octane pump gas. With race gas, it has no less than 1,400 hp at the wheels.

Besides the menacing Huracans, the Shelby GT500 was also filmed trying its luck against a twin-turbocharged Audi R8, and every race ended with the Mustang crossing the finish line second.
