A drag race between an R35 Nissan GT-R and a C3 Corvette Stingray is certainly unusual, but this is precisely what brought us here.
And, to make things better, both the Japanese supercar and the retro 'Vette had been taken down the aftermarket path. And these aren't you average entry-level mods. Oh no. Instead, these toys sit close to the horsepower limit for a streetable machine.

To be more precise, the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 of the Nissan halo car has been pushed all the way to 1,000 horses.

As for the Corvette Stingray, this seems to be a restomod. And while we're not aware of the full specs that define the V8 heart of the American toy, the machine now packs 800 ponies. And, to make sure that muscle gets put to good use, the Chevy packs Hoosier racing slicks. In fact, as you'll notice in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, the said rubber does a brilliant job at putting the power down.

It's worth mentioning that the Nissan GT-R and the C3 Corvette drag raced on more than one occasion, so you'll get a clear view of each machine's sprinting abilities.

And, for some unknown reasons, the aficioando behind the wheel of the Nissan decided to deliver slow starts. It's not just that he steered clear of using launch control, but it also looks like the gear head's reaction times were the fallen-asleep-at-the-lights kind - the two battled as part of a dedicated event and thus made us of a Christmas Tree.

Note that the two beasts we have here duked it out on three separate occasions. And you'll find these at the 0:35, the 1:41 and the 4:58 points of the clip below. Then again, the rest of the video is also worthy of attention, since it's packed with sprinting battles.
