Over the years, we've come up with tons of answers to questions nobody asked, so the time has come to provide... a question nobody asked for. Getting to the point, we're wondering whether the Dodge Challenger Hellcat in the video below is a sleeper or not.
Before you ask about the kind of medication we took today, we have to mention this particular Hellcat is no longer a member of the 707-pony club. Instead, this muscle car has turned to the aftermarket world in search for even more power (it seems some people can never have enough muscle).

As a result, this Hellcat packs about 1,000 hp. Factor in the fact that its appearance is 100 percent stock and you'll understand how we ended up with the question above.

As for the exact level of muscle offered by this Mopar machine, we estimated the crank hp using the good old 15 percent rule, with the basis for this being a dyno run result.

This demonic feline delivers 871 hp to the rear wheels, as you'll be able to notice in the piece of footage below. As for the torque, the SRT beast offers 850 lb-ft, once again at the wheels.

Now that we've talked about the results of the aftermarket work, it's time to discuss the mods that have led to the output premium. It all starts with an E85 setup, while the list goes on with a supercharger pulley upgrade and the mandatory ECU remap that keeps everything in check.

There's also a catalytic converter delete, which means this Challenger loses its street-legal status (we're not necessarily expecting the owner to stay away from public roads, though). This and the fact that reliability seems to be at stake here (the list of mods is self-explanatory when it comes to this) determine us to steer clear of such aftermarket pathways.
