The Dodge Challenger Hellcat, along with its Charger nonidentical twin, has entered that stage of its aftermarket life when mods are finally starting to make sense, meaning that they add serious muscle to the already demonic package.
Case in point, the blown SRT machine in the video below, which has been gifted with a moderate amount of goodies, but now delivers a milestone output.

To be more precise, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 has received custom upper and lower pulleys, an E85 setup, a catalytic converter delete, as well as an ECU setup that keeps everything in check.

As a result, this Hellcat has managed to produce impressive dyno results, with the Dodge showing 871 hp and 850 lb-ft of twist. However, these are the figures at the wheels. In theory, this means we're dealing with a Challenger Hellcat that produces north of 1,000 ponies at the crank.

As for the decatted nature of this SRT beast, this has two effects. First of all, it makes the Hellcat less than street legal - here's to hoping its driver doesn't play the illegal game by driving his muscle machine on public roads.

Then there's the aural effect. The stock Challenger Hellcat is a car whose soundtrack is dominated by the supercharger whine, but this custom example comes with a more balanced approach, if we may call its growling that. We're inviting you to hit the "play" button below and enjoy this Hemi's voice.

Nevertheless, before you head over to the clip, we're reminding you the Hellcat will have a new enemy starting later this year and we're talking about the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Since the new King Kong Camaro has borrowed its LT4 blown 6.2-liter V8 from the Corvette Z06, the aftermarket is already waiting to gift the muscle car with kits that will easily take it past the 1,000 hp border, so we have an interesting year ahead of us.
