Have you ever woken up in the morning with a terrible itch that originated in the garage, where your 1,000 HP Trailblazer felt like it was too soft?
No, neither did we, but this seems to be the case with the guy in the video below. The man runs a Chevrolet Trailblazer that’s been pushed all the way up to 1,000 hp at the wheels and yet he’s unsatisfied with his ride.
They guy has been out drag racing and, after just two passes, entered the 9s area. Still, there are plenty of improvements to be made, but we must first discuss the current level of the “race truck”.
The engine compartment now holds a 427 ci LSX V8 crate engine, which works with an 88-mm turbo. As expected, this kind of setup requires tons of supporting mods, which this Chevy obviously packs.
Nevertheless, while engine swaps such as this one are cool, the suspension of the Trailblazer is the one that really grabbed our attention. Going from SUV to drag racing machine, this Chevrolet has received a complete custom setup.
For instance, the front end uses Ford F-Body bits, while at the rear we find a Blue Oval rear end.
As for what will happen under the hood, the turbo currently delivers 17 lbs of boost. The owner plans to dial that all the way up to 30 lbs, which will probably bring this Trailblazer into the 1,400 whp league. And that’s where the funny passes start to arrive.

This is still a street-legal car and it's not too bad when it comes to the features either
The Trailblazer has kept its street legal assets, which means the vehicle comes with a full interior. It still has power windows and a functional sunroof. You know, for when you just want to hit the road and party after some time spent at the races. As for what will happen under the hood, the turbo currently delivers 17 lbs of boost.
