1,000 HP Chevrolet Caprice Hearse Makes the Last Firewall Go Really Fast

Death you definitely do not rush into your life. No, you’ll keep it as far away as possible. Yet, when it does happen that black hearse will be your last ride. Are we creepy enough? Good, then you’re most likely going to like the idea of the world’s fastest hearse, since it will make this trip the best ever.

OK, leaving all the jokes behind, this is not really about a hearse. Or is it?

This guy will definitely never going to be late at his own funeral and there’s not one little thing you can say to prove us wrong. 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) is a 2.6 seconds joke and if it weren’t for a hearse we’re talking about here, you could have easily claim that not even death catches this car.

Arne Toman from Chicago, Illinois, told folks over at Barcroft that there is no other hearse in this world built to this level of performance. Last time we wrote about the cheating-death brainiac the score was 2.9 seconds, so we’re guessing there were some improvements applied on the peculiar vehicle.

We’re looking at a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice that was fitted with a 6.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces a staggering 1,000 horsepower. The speedy dead-carrier recently set a new world record with a 9.94 second quarter mile run at 137.76 mph (221.7 km/h).

And hold your horses, no way can you make a faster hearse next, since Arne is already looking into a bigger, stronger, faster engine lifting its power to 1,300 horsepower.

- Daddy, what happens after we die? Do we go to heaven?
- After we pass away, there is a hell of a ride waiting for some of us...
