Obviously, the 1,000 horsepower Audi RS6 that was owned by a Swedish pro freeskier ended up in the wrong hands. No matter how sad this sounds, the monster machine that was built with the help of ex-Koenigsegg chief engineer Leif Tufvesson was found burned to the ground the other day after two armed men had stolen it.
Jon Olsson is not just one of the most successful freeskiers in the world but he’s also a quite big fan of madly customized cars. This year’s Gumball 3000 - an event he has attended a couple of times - has seen Olsson driving the outrageous Audi RS6 and ensuing envy among the other participants.

The 3000-mile rally that gathers some of the greatest auto contraptions on the planet in one place every year was also the last significant event that saw the Swedish sportsman at the wheel of the monster. Shortly after, he decided to sell the Audi, which was eventually purchased by a dealer in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. According to Autoblog Netherlands, this is also the place the vehicle was stolen from last night in an armed robbery.

Apparently, the car was starring in a new video that was being shot at the Piet Hein tunnel in Amsterdam around midnight when two armed men showed up. They were driving a Volkswagen Transporter when they switched cars and ran away with Olsson’s former precious. It would seem that, during a gun fight, the van burst into flames while the robbers managed to steal the RS6 and flee the scene.

Later during the night, police found the vehicle abandoned. Unfortunately, the thieves set the Audi on fire as well, most likely to cover up their tracks from investigators. The police have released a statement asking witnesses for any details that could help solve the case. Further information will probably be unveiled at a later date, as the investigation is still ongoing, but we have to admit that this is a hell of an outcome for such a great car.
