1 Millionth Fiat 500 Produced in Poland

From a half-ton little car powered by two-cylinder engines, the Fiat 500 has grown into a mass-market global phenomenon, a semi-little cult car that every girl must have to make her life complete.

Fiat previewed the all new 500 in March 2007 – 50 years after the first Fiat 500 was presented. It’s become a runaway success story, as the Tychy production facilities in Poland just can’t seem to make enough of them.

As of Friday, April 19th, the Fiat Auto Poland factory we mentioned has produced no less than one million Fiat 500s. At a global level, production of the new 500 is already well past the million mark, since the model is also built in Mexico for North American buyers to enjoy.

The landmark vehicle that took production figures from six numbers to seven is a white 135 HP Abarth 500 1.4  which Fiat say is going to an Italian customer.

To show just how different one 500 can be from another, Fiat also displayed the 999,999 car, which is a red car powered by a 95 HP S version 1.3 MultiJet. The car on the right is number 1,000,001 and is a light blue Fiat 500C Lounge, power by a 69 HP 1.2 that’s headed to a German customer.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
