1 Million Dollars Worth of James Bond Range Rovers Stolen in Germany before Shooting

As producers of the last James Bond movie have recently unveiled the main cast, things seemed to have started with bad news for the crew preparing the set. Reports are five Range Rover Sport models specially designed for the 24th installment of the famous series have been stollen from the Land Rover Training Center in the city of Neuss, near Dusseldorf, Germany, a couple of days ago.

The British luxury SUVs were created with specific features so they could fulfill the movie’s requirements and, along four other cars, the total value is close to one million dollars. According to Wirtschafts Woche, the cars were stollen right before they could be transported to the set in the Alps.

The German police has been looking for the thieves, but there is no trace of those who did the job, nor of the cars so far. Most likely, new ones will be built for the movie who’s shooting will start soon. According to the source, new European Union regulations that require automakers to share vehicle diagnostic data may have contributed to the thefts.
