Segment: Sport Touring
Production years: 2010, 2011
In 2010, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Moto Guzzi Stelvio NXT, an upgraded version of the base model loaded with several touring-oriented features that enhanced its overall capabilities.
Some touring-oriented features were represented by wire-spoke wheels, engine guards, a skid plate, side-mounted aluminum panniers, hand guards, a larger fuel tank, a larger windscreen, and other aesthetic improvements.
As for the standard features, the 2010 NXT version packed a dual headlight system, a wide handlebar, a two-piece dual seat, a small luggage rack, a two-into-one exhaust system with a left-hand-mounted silencer, and a single-sided aluminum swingarm.
The 2010 NXT machine came in the same shape and form as the previous model, delivering the exact technical, visual, and performance specifications without significant modifications. The bike was named after the alpine Stelvio Pass, a mountain pass in Northern Italy at the border with Switzerland at an elevation of 2,757 m (9,045 ft).
In the performance department, the 2010 Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 NXT had installed a 1,151cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine underneath its fuel tank, boasting 105 hp at 7,500 rpm and 108 Nm (80 lb-ft) torque at 6,400 rpm.
The engine was coupled to a six-speed manual transmission with a single disc clutch and integrated anti-vibration buffer, sending the power to the rear via a final shaft drive.
