In 2015, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Moto Guzzi MGX-21 Flying Fortress, a rich and technological cruiser motorcycle manufactured by Moto Guzzi. The bike was based on the California 1400 platform and shared the same engine.

The machine's most notable feature was the extensive use of carbon fiber found on the side-mounted panniers, fuel tank panels, front fender, case covers, and front wheel covers. The front wheel covers were mounted because Moto Guzzi claimed they bring more stability and ease of handling when the bike is in motion.

In the technical department, the MGX-21 was fitted with rider electronic aids as standard, such as three levels of disengageable traction control, three riding modes, two-channel ABS, cruise control, and a ride-by-wire system.

The bike featured an aggressive and futuristic blacked-out styling characterized by a stylish front cowl with a single headlight and a small windscreen, a wide handlebar, a two-up set, side-mounted carbon fiber panniers, a dual black-finished exhaust system with a silencer on both sides, six-spoke alloy wheels, and red-finished cylinder heads and calipers.

In the performance department, the 2015 Moto Guzzi MGX-21 Flying Fortress had its soul brought to life by a 1,380cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine with an electronic fuel injection system in charge, boasting 92 hp at 6,500 rpm and 121 Nm (89 lb-ft) torque at low 2,750 rpm.
