Having a single cylinder 500cc engine, the bike was identical to the AJS 7R.

The G12 CSR is nothing but the AMC 650 sports twin built between 1958 and 1966. In order to make a difference between them, the Matchless bike was named the Monarch, while the AJS Model 31 CSR was called the Hurricane.

Same machine as the AJS model 18, the G80 was manufactured from 1949 to 1963. The bike had a single cylinder, four stroke engine of 498cc and a compression ratio of 5.9:1. All its 23 HP were enough to pull a machine of 177 kg with a top speed of 78 mph.

During the Second World War, the company manufactured almost 100.000 units of G3 and G3L Army.
