The 2002 MY Gas Gas EC 300 is a middle-class off-road machine, suitable for those riders who prefer agility with the added bonus of a two-stroke sound and feel. Also, it comes with features such as a race-grade Ohlins monoshock with a progressive linkage as a rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes with Nissin calipers, laced wheels with knobby tires mounted on them, a single seat, a race-like livery, a 45mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic fork and a deltabox-type cromoly frame with an aluminium swingarm.

In the engine department it sports a liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 298cc, single cylinder powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive, and can produce a claimed 50 horsepower and 49 Nm of torque.
