DUCATI 959 Panigale (2015-2016) Specs, Performance & Photos

The 959 Panigale is a sport motorcycle manufactured by Ducati to replace the 899 Panigale. The 959 models share the same name after the small town of Borgo Panigale. In 2015, Ducati announced the 959 and started manufacturing it in 2016.

The 959 shares the style and features as its bigger brother, which pays tribute to Ducati’s legendary racing heritage. The 959 engine is the first Superquadro unit that obtained Euro 4 homologation.

From the 955cc Superquadro Desmodromic liquid-cooled engine, the Panigale 959 draws a maximum power of 158 hp at 10,750 rpm and 106 Nm (78 lb-ft) of torque at 9,000 rpm. The engine is attached to a six-speed gearbox sending the power to the rear wheel.

The model uses the engine as a stressed member of the monocoque frame to improve weight reduction and rigidity, and it tips the scales at 176 kg (388 lbs) dry.

For suspension, it uses a 43mm Showa BPF fully adjustable, upside-down fork on the front, and a Sachs fully adjustable monoshock on the back.

The braking power is achieved by the dual 320 mm discs, 4-piston Brembo Monobloc M4.32 calipers on the front wheel, and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper on the rear supervised by the ABS.

The 2016 Ducati 959 Panigale was for sale in 2022 for a price starting from $13,000.
