In 2015, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1200S, a half-naked machine with the same modifications as the standard model but with additional features that improved performance.

The 2015 1200S version featured redesigned fairings and a Desmodromic Variable Timing (DVT) system that used hydraulically actuated adjusters to vary timing through 90 degrees of camshaft rotation.

The new five-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) enhanced cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and Skyhook suspension. Also, it enabled Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and cornering lights at 32 kph (20 mph) and a seven-degree lean angle.

Compared to the standard model, the bike was fitted with a different suspension system comprised of a 48 mm fully adjustable electronic Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) on the front and a fully adjustable electronic shock absorber with DSS on the rear, offering excellent handling capabilities.

The braking power was handled by Brembo, with two 330 mm semi-floating discs and four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 265 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel, delivering excellent stopping power.

In the performance department, the 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200S had its muscles from a 1,198cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system. As for the power figures, the rear wheel reached 160 hp with a peak force at 9,500 rpm and 136 Nm (100 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.
