DUCATI 1198R Corse Special Edition (2011-2012) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2011, Ducati launched the Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition, a sports motorcycle that marked the historic introduction of a new Ducati Corse logo. In addition, the bike was fitted with an aluminum fuel tank, traction control, and Ducati Corse livery.

The bike was equipped with standard features, such as Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Ducati Traction Control (DCT), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), and Ducati Data Analysis (DDA). It also featured race-derived Ohlins suspension, a steering damper, Brembo brakes, a dual exhaust system, and carbon fiber body parts.

The 2011 Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition was brought to life by a 1,198cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine with a fuel injection system feeding the pistons, boasting 180 hp at 9,750 rpm and 134 Nm (99 lb-ft) torque at 7,750 rpm.

The bike packed a full fairing in the appearance department with a small windscreen and twin eye-shaped headlights, a single seat, a dual exhaust system mounted under the sear, and lightweight seven-spoke alloy wheels.

The bike's handling was operated by a 43 mm fully-adjustable upside-down Ohlins telescopic fork on the front and a fully-adjustable Ohlins shock absorber on the rear, delivering excellent handling capabilities.

As for the braking system, the bike packed two 330 mm semi-floating discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear, offering excellent stopping power.
