The 1988 MY Bimota YB7 sports a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 399cc, transverse four cylinder powerhouse mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and can produce a claimed 65 horsepower and 38 Nm of torque. This is one of the smallest engines to ever be fitted on a motorcycle from the Italian brand, and was borrowed from the FZR400.

It also boasts standard features such as a 42mm Marzocchi telescopic fork, an Ohlins adjustable mono-shock as a rear suspension, Brembo brakes with dual front discs, a large windscreen, an analogue instrument cluster, a single seat, a full-fairing and cast-aluminium wheels.
