The Bajaj Avenger was a cruiser-styled motorcycle designed and manufactured by Bajaj Auto in India. It had styling and design cues borrowed from the Kawasaki Eliminator, packing a 180cc engine first and then increasing to 200 and 220cc.

In 2010, the Indian motorcycle maker launched the Bajaj Avenger 220 DTS-i, the family's largest displacement model, featuring several modifications to its fuel tank-mounted dials and headlight. The bike was delivered in several color schemes.

The bike's visual department was characterized by standard fittings, such as a round headlight, a tall windscreen, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with instruments mounted on top, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger backrest, a single exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right-hand side, and wire-spoke wheels.

In the power department, the 2010 Bajaj Avenger 220 DTS-i had its heartbeat set by a 219cc four-stroke oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivered an output power of 19 hp at 8,400 rpm and 18 Nm (13 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.

The power generated by the engine was transferred to the rear end via a five-speed transmission and a final chain drive, pushing the cruiser to a top speed of 137 kph (85 mph).

For suspension, the motorcycle packed a telescopic fork on the front that offered 140 mm of travel and a five-way preload-adjustable hydraulic shock absorber on the rear, offering 90 mm of travel.

In 2007, the Indian motorcycle maker released the Bajaj Avenger 200 DTS-i, an updated version of the 180cc model. The engine's displacement was increased from 180 to 200cc and featured an oil-cooled system.

In the visual department, the 200cc version was identical to the smaller one, packing standard features, such as a round headlight, a tall windscreen, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with instruments mounted on top, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger backrest, a single exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right-hand side, and wire-spoke wheels.

As for the power figures, the 2007 Bajaj Avenger 200 DTS-i had installed a 199cc four-stroke single-cylinder oil-cooled engine underneath its teardrop-shaped fuel tank, delivering an output power of 17 hp with a peak force at 8,000 rpm and 17 Nm (12 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.

A five-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch redirected the power generated by the engine to the rear wheel via a final chain drive, pushing the motorcycle to a top speed of 115 kph (72 mph).

From top speed to a complete halt, the bike relied on a 260 mm brake disc on the front and a 180 mm drum braking unit on the rear, offering optimum braking performance.

The Bajaj Avenger was a cruiser-styled motorcycle designed and manufactured by Bajaj Auto in India. It had styling and design cues borrowed from the Kawasaki Eliminator, packing a 180cc engine first and then increasing to 200 and 220cc.

It was the first cruiser motorcycle developed by an Indian company. To be part of the premium segment, the bike was fitted with a 178cc engine borrowed from the Bajaj Pulsar sports bike and was re-tuned to meet the torque-demanding characteristics of a cruiser machine.

Power-wise, the 2007 Bajaj Avenger 180 DTS-i took its muscles from a 178cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 17 hp at 8,000 rpm and 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.

The motorcycle was manufactured around a steel frame with a telescopic fork on the front and a hydraulic shock absorber on the rear, offering optimum suspension performance and handling capabilities.

Avenger 180 DTS-i is the first cruiser motorcycle from the Bajaj Auto Ltd inspired from the very famous Kawasaki Eliminator. This motorcycle was launched in India from the year 2005. Basically in order to gain widespread market in India Bajaj engineers had replaced the Kawasaki engine with an under-powered Bajaj 180 DTS-i engine. Bajaj Avenger 180 was discontinued to make way for more powerful 220 cc Avenger in the Indian market. The 178.6 cc, air cooled engine on the Avenger 180 was good for 16.3 hp 12.1 Kw) and 15.2 Nm (11.2 fb-lt) of torque.
