APRILIA SXV 550 (2010-2011) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia SXV, alongside the RXV, was a dual-sports supermoto motorcycle manufactured by Aprilia from 2006 to 2010. The SXV was available in a 450cc version and a larger 550cc displacement.

In 2010, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia SXV 550, the slightly larger displacement sister of the SXV 450 model. It was in its fifth consecutive production year, similar to the smaller one but somewhat more powerful.

The 2010 model came in the same shape and form as the previous one, featuring the same technical, visual, and performance specifications without any significant modifications whatsoever.

For suspension, the machine packed a 48 mm adjustable upside-down fork mounted on the front and an adjustable monoshock mounted on the rear, offering optimum suspension performance and handling capabilities.

The braking power was achieved by a 320 mm brake disc mounted on the front wheel and assisted by a four-piston caliper. The rear wheel was handled by a 240 mm brake disc squeezed by a two-piston caliper.

As for the power figures, the 2010 Aprilia SXV 550 had installed a 549cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine at its core, boasting 70 horsepower. The power was transmitted to the rear wheel through a five-speed gearbox and a final chain drive.

In the visual department, the motorcycle packed standard features, such as a small headlight integrated into a tiny cowl, a high-mounted front fender, an engine cover, a one-piece dual seat, an under-seat-mounted exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels shod with road tires.
