APRILIA SXV 550 (2009-2010) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2009, the Italian bike maker introduced the Aprilia SXV 550, a supermoto motorcycle that debuted in 2006 alongside the RXV model, which was more off-road-oriented than the SXV version. It was available in 450 and 550cc versions.

The 2009 machine came in the same shape and form as the previous model, delivering the exact technical, performance, and visual specifications without any significant modifications whatsoever.

Power-wise, the 2009 Aprilia SXV 550 was set into motion by a 549cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine mounted at its core, delivering only 70 hp. The motorcycle's power was handled by a five-speed manual gearbox that spun the rear wheel through a final chain drive, launching the bike to 180 kph (112 mph).

Suspension-wise, the SXV 550 had installed a 48 mm adjustable upside-down fork on the front and an adjustable monoshock on the rear, providing optimum suspension performance and handling capabilities.

As for the braking power, the motorcycle's wheels were assisted by a 320 mm brake disc mounted on the front, tied to a four-piston caliper. The rear wheel was fitted with a 240 mm brake disc squeezed by a two-piston caliper.

In the aesthetic department, the bike had standard fittings, like a small headlight integrated into a tiny cowl, a high-mounted front fender, an engine cover, a one-piece dual seat, an under-seat-mounted exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels shod with road tires.
