APRILIA SXV 550 (2007-2008) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2007, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia SXV 550, the slightly larger displacement sister of the SXV 450 model. Compared to its smaller sister, the SXV 550 had several minor differences in the visual department and a 549cc engine that delivered more power and torque.

The 2007 SXV 550 was in its second year of production. It came in the same shape and form as the previous model, featuring the same technical, visual, and performance specifications without any changes.

Aesthetically, the bike had standard fittings, such as wire-spoke wheels shod with road tires, an under-seat-mounted exhaust system, a one-piece dual seat, an engine cover, a high-mounted front fender, and a small headlight integrated into a tiny cowl.

Power-wise, the 2007 Aprilia SXV 550 had installed a 549cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine underneath its fuel tank, managed by an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, delivering an output power of 70 hp.

The power generated by the engine was transmitted to a five-speed manual gearbox that converted into motion through a final chain drive, pushing the bike to a top speed of 180 kph (112 mph).

As for the braking power, the bike's wheels were assisted by a 320 mm brake disc with a four-piston caliper on the front and a 240 mm brake disc managed by a dual-piston caliper on the rear.
