APRILIA SX 125 (2011-2012) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2011, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia SX 125, an entry-level road-oriented motorcycle best suited for young riders but also for more seasoned ones alike. It was in its fourth consecutive year of production and remained essentially unchanged.

The Aprilia SX 125 was a supermoto motorcycle produced by Aprilia starting in 2008. The bike was destined for young sports riders and incorporated many features that contributed to the tremendous success of the RSV and SXV models.

In the visual department, the motorcycle had standard fittings, like wire-spoke wheels with road tires and aluminum rims, a side stand, a dual-sided aluminum swingarm, a high-mounted exhaust system, a one-piece dual seat, a high-mounted front fender, and a small cowl with a small headlight.

For suspension, the bike packed a 40 mm upside-down telescopic fork on the front with 260 mm of travel and a hydraulic monoshock on the rear with 270 mm of travel, offering excellent suspension performance and handling.

For safety reasons, the bike relied on a 260 mm brake disc on the front and a 220 mm brake disc on the rear. A two-piston caliper dealt with the front wheel, while a single-piston caliper controlled the rear wheel.

As for power, the 2011 Aprilia SX 125 had installed a 124cc two-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 22 hp and 16 Nm (12 lb-ft) torque.
