APRILIA SX 125 (2008-2011) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia SX 50 was a supermotard motorcycle made by Aprilia since 2006. It was produced alongside the RX 50 model and was set in motion by a single-cylinder two-stroke engine made by Derbi/Piaggio.

The Aprilia RX and SX 50 models were the revised successors of the Aprilia RX 50 made in 1992. The bike's layout and panels were closely based on the larger displacement Aprilia RXV and SXV models.

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia SX 125, a small displacement motorcycle with on-road tires and an off-road appearance. The bike suited the youngest among riders but also the more seasoned ones alike.

Visually, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a high-mounted front fender, a small cowl with a single headlight, a one-piece dual seat, a dual-sided swingarm, a high-mounted exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels with black rims and road-tires.

The bike was built around a steel beam frame with a 40 mm telescopic fork on the front with 195 mm wheel travel and a hydraulic single shock absorber on the rear with 180 mm of travel.

As for the braking power, the bike was fitted with a 260 mm stainless steel disc engaged by a floating caliper and one 180 mm brake disc tied to a floating caliper on the rear, offering optimum stopping power.

In the performance department, the 2008 Aprilia SX 50 had installed a 49cc two-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine managed by a 17.5 mm Dell'Orto carburetor.
